The Client

Vanultra, a rooftop tent hardware company serving the Overlanding and camping communities, sought enhancements for its WooCommerce website. Facing limitations with a static compatibility matrix, Vanultra needed to streamline the presentation of tent compatibility with their quick-release mounts. They approached Wknd Builds, a web development agency, for feature additions within a year-end budget.

The Challenge

Vanultra's existing setup, a static compatibility matrix, proved inflexible. It was incompatible with the Product page due to its implementation using Gutenberg Blocks. This made updating compatibility information cumbersome and lacked an effective way to showcase compatible tents and upsell the quick-release mounts.

The Solution

Wknd Builds undertook a thorough assessment and developed a custom plugin. This introduced a dedicated Post Type for compatible brands, a custom Gutenberg Block, and a Shortcode. The team also integrated the YayExtra plugin to facilitate upselling. Additionally, they created a migration plugin to transition seamlessly from the static matrix to the new system.

The Results

The implementation led to significant improvements. Vanultra gained a dynamic compatibility management system, allowing easy updates for compatible tents. The automatic display of compatible tents streamlined user experience. The integration of an upsell section increased potential sales. The migration plugin ensured a smooth transition without data loss.

In Conclusion

The collaboration between Vanultra and Wknd Builds demonstrates the power of tailored solutions in addressing specific e-commerce challenges. The enhancements not only improved user experience but also created potential for increased sales. This successful implementation lays a solid foundation for future developments and scalability for Vanultra's online platform.
